I see things differently now that I’m not so young anymore. Got to be more mature, think about things, think about the future—not just where we’re at right now. A couple of my friends got shot and killed. I didn’t want that to be me, I don’t want that to be anybody in my family. He was 16 and they shot him in front of his own house. He was just walking, and since his older brother was a gangbanger, some guys drove by and shot him down. They shot his brother too—16 times in and out, so that’s 32 holes—and his brother’s still alive, so that’s his little brother looking out for his older brother. I don’t want that to be me. I don’t feel like being a statistic.
